This week trainees are back in school Tuesday to Friday.

Training this week for the trainees:

Safeguarding - serious case reviews & End of Course Requirements
Supporting poor readers to access the curriculum
Supporting Pupil Well-Being

No Twilight training this week

Teaching at 60% - a reminder that this is the following involvement (depending on lesson length)

Assessment

Assessment Point 4 (final)  meetings are taking place with  subject leaders across weeks 33 and 34. 

Trainees are preparing for Impact Presntations which take place next week. These are face to face to Sponne - so please ensure that you know when your trainee is out to attend this as their classess may need to be taken by the normal class teacher.

 

Trainees may take up to 5 days in their employing school towards the end of the course - please communicatre with you trainee to enusre you know when they will be with you or in their employeeing school.

o) Providing opportunities for pupils to articulate their long-term goals and helping them to see how these are related to their success in school.

CCF Learn How To Focus TS8:

f) Contributing positively to the wider school culture and developing a feeling of shared responsibility for improving the lives of all pupils within the school.

Following central training this week, reflect on your ECT year and beyond central session. What tips/ideas do you want to use from this session in your first post? What advice would you give to a trainee next year?


As this is likely your final week at your placement school, consider the overall impact you have had. What are you leaving - in terms of impact only your pupils and support to your department?

Focused Observations:

Arrange to observe a club/extra-curricular activity - even if only for a short time. Consider how these activities help to develop a school community (8f)

Deliberate Practice Opportunity:

Discuss with your trainee how your subject can impact students’ long-term goals. Plan an activity that helps pupils to articulate their long-term goals and then how the skills of your subject will help them in achieving those (7o)

Develop your understanding of How Professionals behave by working on Professional Behaviours (CCF)    

Target 1

Implement your long-term goals activity and apply the benefits of doing well in your subject. Share this resource with your department before you leave. (8f)
